Former President Donald Trump took to the stage at the NRA’s Great American Outdoor Show on Friday.
The annual event is the world’s largest outdoor recreation show andTrump's appearance marked his return to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, where he last spoke in 2016 during his first presidential campaign.
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd at the New Holland Large Arena, Trump emphasized the importance of supporters turning out at the polls come November. He also focused on his support for Second Amendment rights and highlighted concerns about border security and criticisms of President Biden's administration.
During his speech, Trump expressed frustration with the ongoing conflicts in Capitol Hill, particularly regarding border security legislation. He outlined plans for his first day in office if re-elected, including personnel changes aimed at the ATF's leadership.
"We’re going to knock out everything before I even get to the Oval Office," Trump proclaimed. "On day one, we will sack the radical gun grabber Steve Dettlebach," in reference to the current Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Trump concluded his speech by announcing his next campaign stop in South Carolina, where he plans to intensively campaign for the next 14 days ahead of the state’s primary against former Governor Nikki Haley.
