With the ever-changing weather in the month of January it poses the question when is winter over?

Friday, Feb. 2. was Groundhog’s day where America's favorite groundhog appeared at the ceremony. The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club announced that Phil, the well-known groundhog and meteorologist, did not see his shadow. According to the German legend, this means that Phil predicts there will be an early spring for 2024.

Groundhog’s day is a 138-year tradition that originated in Germany using hedgehogs but because they aren’t native to the U.S. German settlers in Pennsylvania turned to groundhogs instead.

Phil has only been right 40-percent of the time so if we begin to see spring weather conditions perhaps Phil has predicted correctly.
