Shippensburg University Television (SUTV), in conjunction with The Slate Newspaper, has teamed up for Shippensburg’s spiciest new show.
What started as a fun one-off joke by Slate Managing Editor Connor Niszczak, “Maritime Meltdown” is a spoof of the popular YouTube series “Hot Ones” hosted by Sean Evans. “Meltdown,” however, is hosted by a rotating gallery of familiar Communications, Journalism, and Media faces sitting down with some of the campus’ biggest celebrities.
For the inaugural episode, President Charles Patterson joined SUTV’s Adam Beam for some wings and sauces graciously provided by Shippensburg University Dining Services. The two are also joined by Chef Jude Jerome, who introduces each of the sauces he provided for the episode, including his own BBQ Jerk Sauce.
The hope for the series moving forward is to have a new episode every other week for the remainder of the semester, airing simultaneously on The Slate and SUTV’s social media accounts, including YouTube and Instagram.
The first episode of the series can be viewed here:
